Benitez dismisses UAE reports

Rafael Benitez has reaffirmed his commitment to Liverpool after rubbishing reports that he has been offered a lucrative deal to coach the United Arab Emirates.

Reports in the Middle East claimed the Anfield boss had been offered the chance to move into international management this summer.

Liverpool's worst Premier League finish for 11 years and a lack of stability at boardroom level have been cited for Benitez's possible departure.

However, just days after pledging his future to the Reds for the remainder of his four-year contract, the Spaniard has rubbished suggestions that he could be lured away by a surprise job offer.

"I was very surprised to read about this story but it seems more and more as if they keep happening from somewhere," Benitez told the Liverpool Echo.

"I am very happy here in Liverpool. I have always been happy and I want to stay here for a long time - if it is possible."
