Rooney won't take it easy

will not curb his enthusiastic style of play despite fears that he might pick up a pre-World Cup injury.

The Manchester United and England star finished Monday's 3-1 warm-up victory over Mexico, in which he played the full 90 minutes, with a minor neck problem.

England coach Fabio Capello played down the severity of the problem at full-time and now Rooney has promised to continue giving his all during training and in matches in the build-up to South Africa.

The Three Lions begin their World Cup campaign with a Group C encounter against the United States on June 12.

"You have to go into each game and play like you normally do," said Rooney, who finished the domestic season with concerns over ankle ligament and groin problems.

"If things happen then hard luck. We'll just have to get on with it.

"It's not pressure. I just try to give my all every time I play.

"I actually feel quite good. I have a bit of a stiff neck but that will be gone in a couple of days."
