Winning team announce new MUTV and online campaign
A 60-second advert reliving one of Manchester United’s most iconic goal celebrations has been created and funded by Manchester United, AIG, MBNA and MasterCard.
The advert, based on Ryan Giggs’ famous bare-chested goal celebration in the semi-final against Arsenal in 1999, will be featured on MUTV and you can watch the video now.
The campaign, which relives the commentary and legendary celebration of the Welsh wing wizard in a typical high street electronics store, is being used to promote the Manchester United credit card.
Adrian Nicholson, relationship director for Manchester United said: “The TV advert is about reliving the elation Ryan Giggs felt, along with the whole club, in that special game and special ’99 season. We like to think it would be the same for any of our fans when they purchase something they really want with their Manchester United credit card!”

The Manchester United credit card offers 0% on balance transfers for 12 months (3% handling fee) and 0% on money transfers from the credit card to a current account for 12 months (4% handling fee), as long as the balance is transferred within the first 90 days of the account opening.
It offers 0% on card purchases for 3 months from the date the account is opened1.
After the introductory period the card will revert to a typical rate of 16.9% APR.
Every time a customer makes a card purchase, and at no cost to the customer, MBNA will make a contribution to the club.
Through the unique RedRewards program, customers could also win a range of fantastic Manchester United 'money can't buy' prizes simply by using their Manchester United Credit Card, including guided tours of the 'Theatre of Dreams' and Carrington training ground and football training sessions (with kit provided).
